I have been a Sherlock Holmes fan for many years. I used to check on every single compilation of stories in bookstores, trying to find a set of adventures that I hadn't read yet, until I finally got my hands on a complete anthology.
It is divided into three parts:
Part One: Introducing Sherlock Holmes includes the first two stories: A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, first published in 1887 and 1890, respectively.
Part Two is a compilation of The Strand Stories illustrated by Sydney Paget, who first equipped Holmes with his famous deerstalker hat, and is responsible for our image of Sherlock Holmes today. There are several sets of stories under this: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (12 stories, published between1891-1892), The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes ( another 12 stories published between 1892-1893), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1901-1902), and The Return of Sherlock Holmes (12 stories published between 1903-1904).
Part Three is a compilation of stories illustrated by other artists, most notable being Frank Wiles and Howard K. Elcock. It includes the following: Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes (6 stories published between 1908-1913), The Valley of Fear (1914-1915), His Last Bow (1917), and The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (the last 12 stories, published between 1921-1927).

This post serves as a brief history and timeline for the stories, in the order that they were published. I may not tackle the stories in sequence, because some prove more challenging than others. I will always include the years in which they were published in the Strand, and eventually I will make a master list of the finished cases, doubling as a table of contents.
Thank you very much for visiting, and have a nice day.
